L'Envoy, l'Emissario: l'antenato del Viceré Nevil Shute (1899-1960) non è forse un autore molto conosciuto in Italia. In realtà, il suo vero nome era Nevil Shute Norway. Aveva parzialmente occultato la sua identità perché, quando cominciò a scrivere romanzi nel suo tempo libero (si parla dei primi anni 1920), temeva che qualcuno l’avrebbe considerata una attivit à disdicevole per un ingegnere aeronautico britannico che lavorava per una grande azienda.
