                After July 1943, when Benito Mussolini had been deposed, most people in Italy discovered to be antifascist. Mussolini embodied Italian Fascism, so it was only "natural" that his dead body was going to be mauled, like all the monuments and portraits of him were destroyed after his fall. But many artists who had participated in art contests sponsored by the Fascist government, and received awards, were presented in a recent art show by the Estorick Collection of London as opponents of the regime, mostly for what they did after 1943!   Una chiatta a vela da m 10. di George Buehler Qualche anno fa, progettai una barca, chiamata Rufus, per un signore che viveva lungo la Intercoastal Waterway in Florida. Mi sono divertito un sacco ad idearla, e ho intenzione di farne una anche per me, un giorno. Ho pensato che potrei costruirla sulla riva del fiume Columbia, molto a monte; e poi venirmene giù galleggiando fino ad Astoria. O magari costruirla dove nasce il Mississippi, per poi scendere fino a New Orleans. E naturalmente sarebbe un’imbarcazione molto adatta anche ai quieti fiordi dello Stato di Washington. L’idea era quella di costruire un semplice ed economico camper galleggiante. In origine, Rufus avrebbe montato un piccolo motore entrobordo, o un fuoribordo tipo British Seagull, e una grande vela per farsi pigramente spingere dal vento.
